Davenport Speedway readies for 2025 season

Davenport, Ia. (March 23, 2025) – While much of the sports world is in the frenzy of March Madness, Davenport Speedway is busy preparing for the upcoming racing season.

Promoter Jeff Struck and SR Promotions are working to make this season at Davenport Speedway, even better than last year. Twenty-five nights of exciting stock car racing action are planned for the quarter-mile dirt oval located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, in Davenport.

The 2025 schedule is loaded with exciting action for all kinds of racing fans. The Sprint Invaders return to Davenport with a date on May 9th. The Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series continues its Memorial Day weekend tradition with a visit on Friday, May 23rd. The MARS Late Model Series will be the featured class at the second annual “Corn State Nationals”, held September 12th & 13th.

For the fifth straight year the DIRTcar SummerNationals will appear at Davenport. The June 17th date will also mark the return of the Iowa Governor’s Cup to Davenport Speedway. The two have a shared history as the first Iowa Governor’s Cup was one of six races in the first U.M.P SummerNationals tour, in 1986.

The track points championship will begin with the Koehler Electric Season Opener is slated for Friday, April 11th. Weekly classes will include IMCA sanctioned Late Models, Modifieds, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks. Also racing weekly will be Outlaw Street Stocks. IMCA Mod Lites and 4-Cylinders will alternate weeks.

Weather permitting, open practice sessions are tentatively set for March 30th and April 6th. Details on the practice sessions will be released later.
