| April 11, 2012

DAVENPORT, Ia. (April 11, 2012) – The cars and stars of the Corn Belt Clash racing series will make their first ever visit to the Davenport Speedway this Friday, April 13th. The highlight of the evening will be the Karsyn’s Krusaders 40, when the CBC racers will compete for the $3,000 top prize.

Also racing on the program will be IMCA late models, IMCA modifieds, and street stocks. All classes will run on the historic, big half-mile track.

The Corn Belt Clash series already has one event completed in 2012. Will ‘the Thrill’ Vaught captured the series opener at I-80 Speedway in Nebraska. The defending CBC series champion is Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

The Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series has partnered with Karsyn’s Krusaders for the upcoming season. Karsyn’s Krusaders is now the official non-profit organization of the Corn Belt Clash.

Karsyn’s Krusaders – Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt One Lap at a Time® is an Iowa non-profit organization started by a family with longtime racing involvement that decided to turn their “passion for racing into a purpose” after their 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

Karsyn’s Krusaders will be on hand at the event to sell merchandise and conduct other activities.

The following Friday, April 20th, the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models will make their first of two appearances at Davenport, in 2012. Also racing at that program will be IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and 4-Stocks.  All races for the Deery Brothers event will be on the quarter-mile track.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates will open Friday at 4:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
