Davenport Speedway season opener set for Friday

DAVENPORT, Ia. (April 24, 2012) – Weather permitting, the Davenport Speedway will host the Koehler Electric Season Opener, this Friday, April 26th. Mother Nature had not been kind to the Davenport Speedway thus far in 2013, as the racetrack has yet to complete an event.

All five weekly classes, Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, EMS IMCA Modifieds, Koehler Electric Street Stocks, Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks, will begin the run for the 2013 track championships, this Friday.

In addition, two make-up features from April 6th will be run. The IMCA SportMod and 4-Stock make-up features will be first on the program, this Friday.

The Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series event has been rescheduled for Friday, May 17th. The Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models race is rescheduled for Friday, July 5th.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates will open Friday at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
