Dominator wins Cheater’s Race again !

DAVENPORT, Ia. (September 10, 2016) – The Night of Destruction closed out the 2016 racing season at the Davenport Speedway. Cheater races were held in four classes, the Vintage Racing of Illinois cars were on hand, and the evening was capped by the Trailer Race.

“The Dominator” Bob Dominacki added to his impressive record of Cheater Races with a win in the Modified class. Dominacki started eighth and took the lead on lap six of the 20-lapper. Once Dominacki was out in front, everyone else was racing for second. That honor went to Joe Beal. Derrick Carlson had an impressive showing in third, followed by Ray Cox Jr. and Tony Olson.

The Street Stock trophy went to Jesse Owen. Owen took the lead from Jeff Struck on lap five and made the rest look easy. Struck held on to finish second with Eric Sanders a close third. Bryan Ritter and Cary Brown were fourth and fifth respectively.

Rob Nylin picked up the win in an awesome SportMod main. Nylin jumped out to an early lead from a front row start. Rob managed to hold off and gap Tony Olson for the win. Brandon Jewell had a strong showing in third. Dustin Schram and Mike McGarry completed the top five.

Andy Wagener went from worst to first to win the 4-Stock feature. Wagener took the lead on lap three after starting eighth. Second went to Cody Brewster who also won the heat. Josh Lane, Mike Sanders, and Drew Wise completed the top five.

Vintage Racing of Illinois paid their first visit to the Davenport Speedway on Saturday. However, it local driver Jeff Walker of Davenport who stood in victory lane. Walker took the lead after a late race restart and held off Pat Heany for the win. Justin Rutledge finished third.

The Trailer Race was the final event of the evening. Michael Smith won the fan favorite award. When the coarnage was complete, Cory Cesar was the winner, followed by Stan Stockwell and Mike Wisdom.
