Jason Rauen Conquers Cresco for First Win of 2012

FARLEY, IA (Sept 4, 2012) – It’s no secret that it’s been a rough year so far for Jason Rauen and Rauen Motorsports, but on Sunday evening the team finally shook the monkey off their back by claiming the first win of the 2012 season with a $3,000 triumph at Cresco Speedway (Cresco, Iowa) in their brand new #98 Rauen Motorsports/Mastersbilt By Stuckey/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.

It was back to business for Jason and the team on Saturday night at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) in a $3,000-to-win, Corn Belt Clash Series event as they debuted their brand new #98 Rauen Motorsports/Mastersbilt by Stuckey Super Late Model.  Twenty-six Super Late Models were on hand for the event, and an eighth to second run in heat race action rewarded Rauen with the second starting position alongside pole sitter, Chad Simpson.  Rauen battled in the top five throughout the event before registering a fourth place finish behind race winner, Chad Simpson, Chris Simpson, and Tim Isenberg.

Twenty-three entries took to the 4/10 mile oval at Cresco Speedway on Sunday evening, and Jason began his night with a second place finish in his heat race, which earned him a spot in the dash.  After finishing third in the dash he was rewarded with the second starting spot for the finale alongside Denny Eckrich.  As the feature went green Rauen quickly worked his way to the lead, and never looked back on his way to his first win of the season!  He was followed across the finish line by Chad Simpson, Chris Simpson, Denny Eckrich, and Rob Moss.

“It feels great to get our first win of the year.  This year has definitely been frustrating at times, but my guys have kept digging and the hard work finally paid off.  This new Mastersbilt by Stuckey was awesome all weekend, and I can’t thank Ronnie Stuckey enough for his help,” noted Rauen.

The team is unsure of where they will race this weekend, but are considering making the trip south to Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) for the 2nd Annual Rockabilly 45.  The event, which will be sanctioned by the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) is headlined by a $1,500-to-win feature on Friday night and a $3,000-to-win event on Saturday evening.  For more information on the event, please visit www.COMPDirt.com
