Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 to host NDRL mini-series event paying $20,000 to win!
PEVELY, MO (January 18, 2012) – A new Dirt Late Model miniseries formed by race team owner John Kennedy plans to launch in March with a pair of $20,000-to-win events. The National Dirt Racing League plans a handful of 2013 races starting with a March 29-30 weekend at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway and Federated Auto Parts Raceway @ I-55 in Pevely, Mo., a pair of $80,000-purse events paying at least $1,500 to each feature starter.
“We wanted to do something different and exciting for both the drivers and the fans,” ; said Kennedy, who fields a two-car team for Shane Clanton and Tim Fuller on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. ” Obviously the purse and payout that we have established will entice and excite the drivers and the plans we have for the fans will undoubtedly grab their attention as well.
“The objective with the NDRL is to provide top of the line racing action to everyone in attendance and offer lucrative payouts to the drivers as a reward for their dedication to the sport. All of our events will be one-day shows and feature some of the biggest names in Dirt Late Model racing.”
The tour plans four to six events that won’t conflict with major touring or crown jewel events, said NDRL president Jason Shank. The planned $57,000 points fund pays $20,000 to the champion.
Besides the March 29-30 events, NDRL has tentatively schedule a Sept. 2 event (in Pennsylvania, Ohio or West Virginia with the track yet unnamed) and Oct. 11-12 events at an unnamed Pennsylvania track. Kennedy will reveal site of the Oct. 11-12 events Saturday during DirtonDirt.com’s live pay-per-view from Tucson International Raceway’s Winter Extreme. For more information, visit thendrl.com.
