Free-For-All this Friday for Fan Appreciation Night at Mineral City Speedway

| June 18, 2012

FORT DODGE, Iowa (June 18) – It’s gonna be a furious free-for-all this Friday, June 22, for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Motorsports Safety Products at the Mineral City Speedway, and track officials are readying for one of the biggest crowds in the history of the fast half-mile dirt track in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

For the past two weeks, drivers in all divisions have been handing out free passes to fans for this Friday’s show featuring USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, Econo Stocks and Hornets. Reports from drivers indicate nearly 10,000 free passes have been handed out by competitors to fans, friends, family and co-workers for a free night of racing “on the house.”

The driver who brings the most fans will earn a $1,000 gift certificate from for a custom-made Awesome Race Suit from Motorsports Safety Products in Mason City, Iowa. Second place gets a $500 gift certificate from Motorsports Safety Products toward new safety products for his or her team; third place receives a new Bell K1 Sport racing helmet; fourth place takes home $200 cash; and fifth through tenth with the most fans recruited will get a free pit pass for the next weekly race.

And if that wasn’t enough, there will be a $1,000 money drop for kids. Youngsters will be divided into two age groups and one thousand one-dollar bills will be dropped from 80 feet in the air. Anything the kids grab out of the air they get to keep!

But we’re not leaving out the adults. Hold on to your ticket stub from this Friday because on Friday, July 6, there will be a $5,000 money drop for the grown-ups with 45 fans having a chance to snag big bucks out of the sky.

Want to get there early this Friday for a good seat? Good idea. The Mineral City Speedway will also be having beer and food specials from 5-6 p.m. this Friday night for the early-bird fans.

Grandstand gates will open this Friday at 5:00, hot laps start at 7:00 and racing begins at 7:30. Without the free pass, adult grandstand tickets are $10, kids ages 13-16 are $6 and children under 13 get in for free every week at Fort Dodge’s House of Speed. Pit passes are $25.

To get your free pass, simply find a Mineral City Speedway driver and ask for one. You might know one of the many drivers from your work place, through a friend or you might even be able to find them on your favorite social networking sites like Facebook.

Heck, with a bunch of great prizes in store for the drivers that bring the most fans to the track this Friday, you might even find a few of them handing them out in the parking lot to new fans on their way into the racetrack.

Any drivers needing more free passes to distribute can call 515-297-1691 or email larry@mineralcityspeedway.com to request more.

We didn’t leave the racers out on this one either. Stock Cars and B-Mods will each be racing for $500 to win and $75 to start while Hobby Stocks will be battling for a $400 top prize and $75 to start. Econo Stocks go for $125 to win and $40 to start, and the winner of the Hornet main event will get $150 while all starters take home at least $40.

Drivers in the USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod divisions may run either the American Racer G60/KK704 racing tire or the stamped Hoosier G60. Also, Hobby Stocks will not be required to utilize the restrictor plate this Friday night. Furthermore, there is no registration fee for new drivers so come on out, stand on the gas and have fun racing in front of the biggest crowd you will see all year long.
