Friday Afternoon Showers Wash Out CJ Speedway Races
Columbus Junction, Iowa: The CJ Speedway was prepared and ready for action on Friday, July 7th then rain showers moved into the area forcing officials to cancel the Friday night racing program. We did not receive a lot of rain but the rain came at the worst possible time, stated Larry Richardson, CJ Speedway promoter.
Weekly racing will be set to resume at the CJ Speedway on Friday, July 14th with another full program of racing featuring 5 classes of IMCA sanctioned cars. The following week, July 21st will be another round of weekly racing, then on Thursday, July 27th the CJ Speedway will host a special night of racing during the 2023 Louisa County Fair. Hot laps will take to the 4/10 mile dirt oval at 7 pm with racing to follow each race night.
