Inaugural USMTS & UMP Spring Challenge Postponed
West Burlington, Iowa (March 28, 2021) – With all of the recent information shared by drivers and local tracks, we will confirm the postponement of the Inaugural USMTS & UMP Spring Challenge on April 2nd & 3rd.
Having watched several Midwestern racing surfaces fall apart over the past 2 weeks, USMTS – United States Modified Touring Series and 34 Raceway feel it’s best to postpone our event until the fall. We want to give the fans and drivers a good show and do not feel our track is in the condition to do so at this time.
Every racetrack is different in drainage and drying time and ours is still very wet (last week’s rain did not help). We have not yet had any cars on the track and do not feel that having 100+ cars from all over the US on it in just 4 days is the best way to test the new dirt out. Junking equipment and putting drivers at risk is not acceptable to USMTS or 34 Raceway.
Track work will continue and we will kick our season off on Saturday, 4/10 with 410 Sprint cars from IRA & MOWA. Classes running are: 410 Sprints, Sport Mods & Stock cars at this time. We appreciate everyone’s continued support of 34 Raceway and we will see you in two weeks.
