INNOVATIVE SIGNS PRESENTS THE 2012 HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY SEASON OPENER THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!

CEDAR RAPIDS (May 1, 2012) – Hawkeye Downs Speedway will officially roar to life for the 2012 racing season this Friday Night, May 4 as Innovative Signs-“Your One Stop Sign Shop”  presents  action in all six divisions of the Papa Johns’ Cup/I-Wireless Championship Series.

A full night of action is on tap with Performance Concepts Late Models, Mountain Dew Sportsmen, Budweiser Modifieds, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and Dublin City Pub Legend Cars taking to the track for their first points event of the season.

The Top 3 place winners in each feature will receive trophies Friday night as well.

Kids will want to visit the i-Wireless Lil’ Racers Car Club table under the main Grandstand to sign up for the free club and see what activities are in store for them in 2012!

Hawkeye Downs, Hy-Vee, and Papa Johns have teamed up to offer a new and improved concessions menu this season along with Pepsi Products.

The Front Gate opens at 6pm with Hot Laps slated for 6:35 pm. Pre-Race Ceremonies will begin at 7:15pm with the first race at 7:30pm.

Adult admission is STILL  just $10, Senior Citizens (62+) are $7, Students over 12 are just $5, College Students are just $5 with a valid ID and Children 12 and Under are absolutely FREE!
