Jake Griffin – Hawkeye Downs

CEDER RAPIDS, IOWA (May 4, 2012) – 13-year-old Jake Griffin of Quincy, Ill., will turn laps on the half-mile asphalt of Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in both a late model and modified in 2012. Former Hawkeye Downs’ multi-time track champion Johnny Spaw is tutoring the young hot shoe as he moves up the racing ranks.
In his first night out, Griffin earned a hard-fought second place finish in the 20-lap modified feature. He’s shown being interviewed by track announcer Johnny Tharp.
