Oskaloosa, Iowa (April 1st, 2015) –No April fooling around on Wednesday Night at the Southern Iowa Speedway season officially began with the Musco Lighting Frostbuster. There was amazing racing all night long which saw cars going two and three wide through out the night.

First feature of the night was the Pepsi IMCA Hobby Stocks 16 lap feature went green-to-checkered. Dustin Griffiths started outside front row and jumped out to the early lead but it was short lived because Agency’s Danny Thrasher took the top spot away on lap three. Thrasher held off challenges from both Griffiths and Jamie Songer.  Finishing behind Thrasher, Griffiths and Songer was Austin Luellen and Adam Bonnett.

After a mishap on the initial start the 18 lap KBOE Radio IMCA Northern SportMods feature saw first time visitor Lucas Lambers grabbing the early lead. Lambers had to contend with Brayton Carter on lap four but it was Carter taking the top spot on lap five. Carter cruised on to what appeared to be an easy win but in post-race tech inspection, Carter was disqualifed for illegal distributor. That handed the win over to Lambers. Jenae Gustin, Curtis VanDerWal, Kip Siems and Jonathan Logue rounded out the top five.

In the Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars 20 lap feature it was outside front row starter Jay Schmidt grabbing the top spot. Schmidt saw Damon Murty on his back side and trying to make several attempts in the early going. On lap ten, Cayden Carter had worked his way up to make it a three car fight for the lead but Schmidt continue to pave the way. Murty finally was successful on making the pass for lead on lap 13. Carter tried in the remaining seven laps to get by but Murty was not to be denied the victory. Carter finished second, Schmidt was third, Justin Temeyer was fourth and Shane Weller was fifth.

Final Feature of the night was 22 lap Musco Lighting IMCA Modifieds feature. Marshalltown’s Jimmy Gustin and North Dakota’s Jason Wolla started on the front row and it was Wolla taking the lead from the drop of the green. Wolla never looked back taking the easy win. Jimmy Gustin continue to run second until four laps to go when Hunter Marriott made the pass, Gustin then headed pit side for a flat tire. Marriott managed to finish in the runner up spot. Todd Shute, Scott Dickey and Cole Ferguson completed the top five.
