GREENWOOD, Neb. (May 23, 2013) History repeated itself at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. as Danny Lasoski took the Protect the Harvest A-Feature with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real for the second year running in the Parker and Mark Burch backed No. 1m.

Becoming the seventh different winner of the 2013 Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real season, Lasoski worked past Jason Johnson on the thirteenth round, working the extreme low groove of the four-tenths mile clay oval, to take the unique I-80 payday of all $2 bills for a total of $3,000.

In victory lane, Lasoski gave great thanks to car owner Mark Burch, “I want to thank Mark Burch for giving me the opportunity to drive his great racecar. You know, he builds his own engines with the help of Tim Engler and Huggins Cams; he had a brand new Huggins Cam tonight to try this thing out. We knew we had our work cut out for us.”

Pulling the third starting spot in the night’s redraw, Lasoski fell back to fifth on the start. Utilizing a restart on Lap 5 for the spun No. 17w of Cole Wood, the Dover, Mo. shoe shot to the runner up spot. Giving chase to the MVT No. 41 of Jason Johnson, the pair swapped lines on the race track with Lasoski searching for room to pass before honing in on the bottom groove.

Caution lights flashed on Lap 10 for the No. 48 of Jake Martens, sending both Johnson and Lasoski to the bottom line on the restart with Brian Brown, Wayne Johnson, and Brad Loyet in tow.

Working the middle groove through turns three and four, Johnson was finally unable to keep Lasoski at bay as the Speedway Motors No. 1m earned the lead on Lap 13. Four laps later, the caution would again be displayed as Johnson spun his Stenhouse, Jr. Motorsports No. 41 to a stop in turn four. Johnson would restart at the tail of the field.

Moving Brian Brown to second in the Casey’s General Store/FVP No. 21, Brown would keep his Maxim Chassis winged over on the cushion for the next five laps before moving to the inside line with Lasoski beginning to pull his advantage.

Working into slower traffic on Lap 20, the time with the back markers would be short lived as Cole Wood spun to a stop for the second time in night’s feature, ending his night on Lap 23.

Brown again worked to the cushion in an attempt to build momentum on the Burch Motorsports No. 1m, but again watched as Lasoski pulled to a 3.544 second advantage until the white flag turned to the caution, turning the lap count back to two for the restart.

Danny Lasoski would go uncontested on the restart to victory with Brian Brown second and Brad Loyet completing the all Missouri podium. Brown also earned an extra $300 in the Podium Challenge presented by Electrical Systems.

Logan Forler earned fourth with a last lap pass on Wayne Johnson with Billy Alley following suit to complete the top five.

Johnson would settle for sixth with Johnny Herrera coming from twentieth to earn the night’s PitStopUSA Hard Charger of the Night. After restarting at the tail, Jason Johnson motored back to finish eighth with Dustin Morgan and Lucas Wolfe making up the top ten.

The night’s Joie of Seating B-Feature went to Ryan Roberts. Heat Races began with Logan Forler taking BMRS Heat one. Dustin Morgan topped Rod End Supply Heat two with Brian Brown taking Wesmar Heat three. Saldana Racing Products Heat four was won by Jason Johnson.

The Hawk Racing Performance Products Fastest Lap of the Night went to Jason Johnson with a time in the A-Feature of 16.591 seconds.

The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real continues to the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kan. on Saturday, May 25 for the fifth annual Steve King Memorial.
