MAQUOKETA, Ia. (April 13, 2019) – The cars and stars of the Lucas Oil MLRA Series are set to invade the Davenport Speedway, this Friday, April 19th. The open late models will compete on Davenport’s historic half-mile track, racing for a top prize of $5,000.

The weather has wreaked havoc with a number of racetracks, including Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri. The MLRA Nationals, scheduled for tonight were cancelled, making the Davenport race the Lucas Oil MLRA 2019 season opener.

In addition, both national dirt late model touring series are idle on Friday, which should lead to a top notch field of racecars. Several big name drivers have already added Davenport to their schedule.

The Lucas Oil MLRA series is scheduled to make two stops at Davenport this year. The next race here is slated for May 3rd. MLRA has competed at Davenport five times. Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa was the winner of last year’s event.

The late models will be joined on the track by Modifieds, Street Stocks and SportMods. The pit gate opens at 4pm, the grandstand at 5pm, hotlaps are at 6:30pm, with racing to follow.

Tickets for the Lucas Oil MLRA race are $20 for adults, students and seniors $18, and children 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. For more information, visit our website “DrtTrakRacing.com”, or call (563) 652-5302.
