Maquoketa, Iowa: The Maquoketa Speedway hosted Eastern Iowa garage Door Night at the races on Saturday night with a special event for the IMCA Hobby Stocks. 110 race teams packed the pit area and provided an action packed night of racing.

The Hawkins Trucking and Construction Hobby Stocks were the featured class with a $1,000 to win main event that also carried an additional $780 dollars in lap money. The 25 car starting field took the green flag with Karter Miles setting the pace from his pole position start. Karter led for several laps while his brother Jordan worked to the front from his 3rd row start. Jordan Miles was involved in an incident early in the race that sent him to the rear. The incident lit a fire under Jordan Miles and he quickly worked back through the field and set up a challenge for the lead with his younger brother Karter. Jordan was able to secure the top spot with five to go and the battle was on for second. Lukas Short and Karter Miles swapped the runner up spots several times in the late going of the main event. At the checkers it was Jordan Miles taking the big money with Karter Miles hanging on for second by less than ½ a car length over Short.

The IMCA Modifieds saw a first time visitor to the Oly’s Garage/Hoker Trucking Victory Lane. Brandon Jewell scored his second career win and first ever win at Maquoketa by holding off several heavy hitters in the IMCA Modified class. Jewell raced early with the Maquoketa veteran Ray Cox Jr. Cox who recently got his year started held the lead for several laps before Jewell was able to move out front. Cox ran with Jewell for the majority of the race and settled for second ahead of Jeff Larson.

The QC Jeeps.com IMCA Stock Cars saw another first time winner at the Maquoketa Speedway. Casey Shelliam in his rookie season scored an impressive win in taking the 20 lap feature win by holding off a very pesky Andrew Burk. The 77W of Burk was able to move inside of Shelliam but Shelliam was not rattled and drove a perfect race in taking the win ahead of Burk and Greg Gill.

27 Amhof Trucking IMCA Sportmods took the green flag for their 15 lap main event on Saturday night. Jared Miles led early before 7th starting Shane Paris was able to move into the lead. Paris went on to lead the majority of the main event and he scored the win ahead of a very quick Dakota Cole and Austin Stamm celebrated his birthday with a third place run.

In the Legends Direct INEX Legends main event it was Kacey Korsmo scoring his first ever win at the Maquoketa Speedway. Korsmo advanced from a tenth position start and took the checkers ahead of Cole O’Brien and Dave Eberle.

Cyle Hawkins continues to dominate the 4 Stock division. Hawkins added another win to his resume by taking the win ahead of Dustin Munn and Ross Crist.

Arnold Motor Supply provided product packages to all winners and Hard Chargers on Saturday night.
Next up at the Maquoketa Speedway will be the Jackson County Fair races which will be held on Wednesday, July 24th. The IMCA Late Models will headline the program with hot laps getting underway at 6 p.m. The next Saturday night race program will be kids Back To School Night on August 3rd with all kinds of prizes for the kids including loaded Back Packs and Bicycles.
