MLRA Spring Meltdown This Weekend
WHEATLAND, MO (April 3, 2013) – This weekend the 25th Anniversary season of Lucas Oil MLRA competition gets underway. The setting is a familiar one to drivers and fans alike, I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE. The Spring Meltdown is bigger and better than before this year, with the scheduling of two consecutive days of competition. Friday’s race will pay $2,000 and Saturday’s show pays the highest finisher $3,000. Both days the start money is $400.
“We have many new and exciting things in store for the Lucas Oil MLRA this season including our Winner’s Circle Program, an updated rule book, and the addition of several new sponsorship programs,” said Series Director Dan Robinson. “I-80 Speedway is always one of the fans and drivers favorite stops on the MLRA tour, and we can’t wait to kick off our 25th Anniversary Season there on April 5th.”
This weekend the tire rule will be the WRS 55 on all four corners. Also, there will be no fuel burnoff in the main event. Drivers wanting a little extra seat time have the option to attend a practice session from 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM Thursday.
Friday, grandstands open at 5:30 PM, with racing at 7:15 PM. Saturday, grandstands open at 4:30 PM, with racing at 5:55 PM. Tickets both days are $22 for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12), with 5 and under free. The local B Mods will be running on Friday night, and local A Mods will race Saturday evening. Both nights will also feature the ASCS Midwest Region Sprint Cars.
