MOWA Back in Action at Lincoln Friday!
(Bill W) June 12, 2012 – The Midwest Open Wheel Association roars back into action this Friday night at the Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois! After getting their season opener rained out at the racy bullring, MOWA will be back in force for what proves to be a sensational event!
The Memorial Day weekend saw a pair of high-flying events. Point leader, Jerrod Hull, paced the field on the lightning-fast high banked I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri, while veteran Danny “the Dude” Lasoski kept rolling at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa with his second MOWA win there.
The remainder of the top five in the point standings are expected to join Hull at Lincoln. AJ Bruns will be running at his home track. He picked up a win in MOWA competition at Lincoln a year ago, and also snared this season’s series’ opener at Jacksonville Speedway. Ben Wagoner, Korey Weyant, who won here last season, and Jim Moughan Jr. currently round out the top five, and all are expected to compete. Another hometown driver, Bret Tripplett, will be on hand as well. He recently won at Peoria Speedway with the Sprint Invaders.
MOWA is also proud to announce the return of racing to the Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, Illinois. They will be making the stop on Sunday, July 8.
A full UMP program will also be on hand Friday night. Grandstand admission is just $15!
