COLUMBUS JUNCTION, IA (June 14, 2024) –  The 4 classes of CJ Speedway regulars also ran on Friday, June 14th as the Tony Stewart Tribute Race was held sponsored by Holmes Highway Service Center/Jamie Lynn’s Coffee House.

The Stewart & Sons Fuel IMCA Modified feature win went to Oxford, Iowa’s Kyle Madden as he shot into the lead from his outside front row start and went on to lead the main event flag to flag. Madden was pressured throughout the main event by Kurt Kile but Madden was able to hold off Kile for his second CJ Speedway win of the season. Defending track champion Jarrett Brown turned in his usual consistent finish with a strong third place finish.

John Oliver Jr. has been running two classes at CJ all season and Friday night Oliver was able to score his first Two Fer of the year by topping both the Mincer Ford IMCA Stock Cars and the Huston Ag IMCA Sportmods. In the Stock Car main Oliver made his way to the front from a fifth row start and took the lead early Kirk Kinsley. Oliver Jr. went on to use every inch of the track to maneuver the smooth fast track. Oliver Jr. stated in victory lane, “ Dan and his crew gave us a perfect track tonight and we were able to run anywhere.” Oliver Jr took the Stock Car feature win over a tough challenger in Corey Strothman with Kinsley running up front to take third.

In the Huston Ag IMCA Sportmods, Oliver again had to make his way to the front from a third row start. Oliver overtook race leader Tyler Heckart on lap 8 and went on to take the win ahead of the 42 of Heckart and Nick Aupperle.

First time visitor in 2024 to the CJ Speedway in the CJ Auto Parts/NAPA Stores IMCA Hobby Stocks, Nathan Ballard scored the win. Ballard scored the win in close fashion over Luke Phillips and Ryan Havel. Ballard has raced his new car 13 times this season and 11 times has made his way to victory lane.

Friday, June 21st will be Weikert Appliance Night at the CJ Speedway with hot laps taking to the track at 7 pm with racing to follow.
