REBEL 5K at Davenport Speedway cancelled

| April 11, 2019

MAQUOKETA, Ia. (April 11, 2019) – Cold and wet weather conditions have led to the cancellation of the REBEL 5K, scheduled for Friday, April 12th, at Davenport Speedway. The event was to feature the Deery Brothers Summer Series making their twenty-fifth appearance at Davenport.

Weather permitting, the racing action returns to the Davenport Speedway half-mile track, next Friday, April 19th, for the Lucas Oil MLRA Series. The open late models will be racing for a top prize of $5,000-to-win. Chris Simpson was the winner of last year’s event.

The recent weather has wreaked havoc with a number of racetracks in the Midwest, including Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri. The MLRA Nationals, scheduled for this weekend, have also been cancelled, making the Davenport race the Lucas Oil MLRA 2019 season opener.

The late models will be joined on the track by Modifieds, Street Stocks and SportMods. The pit gate opens at 4pm, the grandstand at 5pm, hotlaps are at 6:30pm, with racing to follow.

Tickets for the Lucas Oil MLRA race are $20 for adults, students and seniors $18, and children 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35.

The racing action moves to the Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, on Saturday, April 20th. That event is highlighted by the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA  late models. Joining the late models will be Modifieds, Street Stocks, SportMods, and the American Iron Racing Series.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. For more information, visit our new Drt Trak Racing Inc. facebook page, or call (563) 652-5302.
