| May 16, 2012

FORT DODGE, Iowa (May 15) – USRA B-Mods will be racing for extra cash this Friday night, May 18, as the Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge, Iowa, presents Round 3 of the 2012 campaign. The Weekly Racing Series show will also feature Kemna Auto USRA A-Mods, USRA Stock Cars and USRA Hobby Stocks, plus the grassroots action of Econo Stocks and Hornets.

Extra money will be on the line in the USRA B-Mods, including a $600 top prize awaiting the main event winner. Each driver that sees the green flag in the feature race will pocket at least $50.

Thanks to support from local sponsors, bonus cash has also been posted this week for the USRA A-Mods. In addition to the regular purse, the top three finishers in the USRA A-Mod main event on American Racer tires will get an extra $200, $150 and $100, respectively, at the pay window.

Pits open at 4:00, grandstand gates open at 5:00 and hot laps start at 7:00 with racing to follow. Adult grandstand tickets are $10, kids ages 13-16 are $6 and children ages 12 & under get in for free. Pit passes are $25 ($15 for drivers in attendance May 4).

A-Mods utilize the USRA’s “alternative” rules package for Modifieds which requires a flat tappet/steel-headed engine or GM Performance Parts CT525 crate engine. Aluminum heads and roller cams are not allowed. Drivers may run a five-inch spoiler, but that is not mandatory.

The American Racer KK-704 is the Official Tire of the USRA Weekly Racing Series, but drivers in the USRA A-Mod, USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod divisions may run the stamped Hoosier G60 racing tire. All other USRA rules apply to all four USRA-sanctioned classes.

For complete rules, check out the USRA website at www.usraracing.com. Econo Stock and Hornet rules can be found at www.mineralcityspeedway.com.

Licensed drivers will earn track and national points in the USRA Weekly Racing Series. USRA A-Mods are competing for a track points fund worth up to $1,500 to the season champion. USRA Stock Cars are battling for $600 to win the points battle while USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks square off for a $500 paycheck to the 2012 track champion.

Drivers not participating in points funds may purchase a Temporary License good for one (1) event only for $10. There is no requirement for any driver to purchase a Competitor License, and no cost-inflating parts such as stickered wheels or stamped cylinder heads are mandated by the USRA rulebook.

The Mineral City Speedway is a 1/2-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 0.9 mile north of US 20 on US 169, then 0.5 mile east on 230th. For a complete 2012 schedule, complete weekly payouts and more check out www.mineralcityspeedway.com online.
