Seeburg Muffler Night at the Races I-35 Speedway

 WINSTON, MO (May 16, 2015) –  With 113 cars filling the pits I-35 Speedway would play host to eight different divisions of race cars.  First to take to the track were the always entertaining Vintage racers.  Combining both Show-Me Vintage Racers and Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers for the first time at I-35 Speedway a field of fifteen strong would roll to the track.  Early race leader and heat race winner Brian Strong #7 would set the pace and appear to be the car to beat until mechanical issues would end his night.  Heat race winner Damon Clevenger #6 would charge his 1956 Ford out front leading the majority of the feature only to see that lead shrink and disappear as Allen Guthrie #51, driving a Studebaker, would take the lead and never look back on his way to the checkers.  One time leader Damon Clevenger would place second as big mover of the race Dennis Fair #7f would race from back to front of the pack to place third.  Jim Clevenger #76 would hold off the very fast heat race winner Tom Wade #1 as they would finish fourth and fifth respectively.

Growing in number and quality each week the E-Modified class was the next to see action.  As the lightning flashed and the thunder rolled on the horizon the racing was hot and heavy on the track with repeat winner Jeremiah Asher #02xa standing tall in McCarthy Auto-Group victory lane.  Asher was challenged late by nephew Justin Asher #74 who would end the feature in second.  Jacob Blair #81 continues his impressive ways in only his rookie season by notching a solid third place finish.  Kit Bailey #77 and Colby Kearney #89k would duke it out for fourth and fifth with Bailey gaining the advantage at the line to place fourth leaving Kearney to place fifth.  Heat race winners included Randy Smith Jr #26j, John Brown #36j and Austin Bouzek #14.

Then came the rains, as all remaining features will be made up at later dates to be determined.  I-35 Speedway would like to thank all of our drivers and fans alike for supporting all the great racing action.  See everyone next week for more “Dirt Trackin at its Best”.
