Southern Iowa Speedway Geared Up For Racing Season Opener
Oskaloosa, Iowa (April 18, 2024) – The 2024 racing season is set to get underway at the Southern Iowa Speedway located on the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds in Oskaloosa. The first green flag of the season will wave on Wednesday, April 24th with five classes of race cars in action. Classes will include Stock Cars, Sportmods, Hobby Stocks, Sport Compacts and Non-Wing Sprint Cars.
The Season opener on the 24th will be College night sponsored by long time supporter of the Southern Iowa Speedway, KBOE Radio. All current college students will just need to show a current College ID to receive free admittance to the races.
The Grandstand gates will open at 5:45 pm and the cars will be on track for hot laps at 7:15 with racing to follow. The pit gates will open welcoming competitors at 5 pm.
The Southern Iowa Speedway Race committee has put together another great schedule which will include the return of the SLMR Super Late Models on Wednesday, June 26th, plus the annual Caleb Hammond Memorial Race Night during the Southern Iowa Fair on Wednesday, July 17th.
The Sage Fruit Front Row Challenge featuring Open Sprint Car Racing hosted by Terry McCarl will be held on Monday, August 5th.
The 2024 Season will conclude with the MUSCO Lighting Fall Challenge on October 11th and 12th.
