Springfield Raceway To Open With March Madness And MARS Late Models March 30th
SPRINGFIELD, MO (March 13, 2013) – The “Quick-Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway will begin the 2013 racing season with the 2nd annual March Madness event featuring the MARS Super Late Models along with USRA Modifieds, USRA B Modifieds, Midwest Modz and Legends on Saturday March 30th with racing to begin at 6:30 PM.
Last season, Republic’s Brad Looney held off several challenges from Will Vaught in taking home the $3,000 to win feature event as over 90 race teams checked-in the pits to compete in the opening event.
Many of the top area and regional Late Model drivers are expected to be on hand as UMP National Points will be awarded while the tire rule will be the Hoosier WRS D55 or the LM 40.
The event will also feature USRA Modifieds and B Modifieds competing for USRA National points along with the exciting Midwest Modz and Legends in getting prepared for the 2013 season.
USRA Modifieds will compete in a $700 to win feature while it will pay $90 to start. There will be a $25 car entry fee for USRA Modifieds as passing points will be used in the local classes. The top point cars will redraw for starting spots.
The pit gates will open at 2:00 PM while hotlaps will begin at 5:45 PM and racing action at 6:30PM. Pit Passes will be $35
The Grandstands will open at 4:30 while Adult Admission will be only $20 while Kids prices are only $5 for ages 6-12 and 5 and under are Free.
