Street Stock & Late Model specials highlight July at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Ia. (July 1, 2013) – Davenport Speedway continues to offer area racers a chance to win the big money.  The real winners however, are area racefans, who get to see the best competition area racers have to offer.

This Friday, July 5th, the Deery Brothers  Summer Series comes to town., to compete on the quarter-mile dirt oval. Davenport’s Brian Harris currently leads the Deery Brothers point standings and has four feature wins in 2013.

Also racing on July 5th, will be EMS IMCA Modifieds, Koehler Electric Street Stocks, Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks, competing for weekly track points.

Street Stocks take center stage with the running of the Street Stock 50, on Friday, July 12th.

$2,000 awaits the winner of the 50-lap main. Weekly DRT TRAK Racing Inc., rules will apply for the event. The rules can be found at the track’s website “davenportspeedway.com”.

The Street Stocks will use a draw/redraw format for the event. All racing will be on the quarter-mile dirt oval.

Also racing will be the Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, EMS IMCA Modifieds, Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks, competing for weekly track points.

Friday, July 19th, the Midwest Jalopies bring their vintage racing coupes back to the Davenport Speedway for their final appearance of the season.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
