Sunflower Classic special this weekend at RPM Speedway
HAYS, Kan. (April 1) – Two $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds top Sunflower Classic programs at RPM Speedway this Friday and Saturday, April 5-6.
Each race is a qualifier for the 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
The inaugural special at Hays also boasts $750 to win features for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $500 to win both nights. Features for Mach-1 Sport Compacts each evening pay $200 to win.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points will be awarded. Both Modified features are Precise Racing BST Tour events; Both Stock Car features are Dirt Track Central Goodland Machine Great Plains Series events.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Entry fee, which includes the track’s annual registration fee, is $60 for Modifieds, $50 for Stock Cars, $40 for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods, and $30 for Sport Compacts.
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $25 for adults and $10 for 10 and under.
Gates open at 2 p.m. and an open practice starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4. Pit passes are $25 or $10 for kids and grandstand admission is free. Complimentary pizza and pop will be served in the pits that evening.
